Sanwa’s JLF has been the go to lever for nearly 30 years. Featuring OMRON switches, a standard JST NH 5 Pin Connector, its the model that all other levers are compared to… until now. The JLX replaces the Sanwa JLF as Sanwa’s flagship lever with a number of improvements. What’s different?

The JLX has been reworked to improve dimensional accuracy over the JLF which improves the overall stability making inputs more precise as compared to the JLF. Other changes include:

The lever body has been shifted to using Polyacetal resin (POM) similar to that used in high end water cooling PC parts. This is key because its known for material stability; the effects of temperature and humidity are minimized .

Washers for the base have been increased reducing rattles during operation. Note: This new washer is not compatible with the JLF body. Additionally, the shape inside the body where this washer fits has been adjusted to account for the thicker washer.

Bearing materials are now made out of nylon which improves the overall feel by reducing fiction at the pivot.

The circuit board material used in the XTP-MA (where the switches are mounted) has been upgraded from paper phenol to CEM 3 making it less prone to warpage.

The actuator (white) is slightly larger and was originally used on the silent JLF. Sanwa claims that e-sports gamers in Japan preferred this actuator over stock and claimed the best results with it, therefore they adopted it as standard on the JLX.
