Brook Retro Board Frequently Asked Questions - Compatibility
Compatibility Questions – Does the Retro Board work with NEO-GEO?
The RETRO BOARD does not work with the NEO-GEO. NEO-GEO setups use something called discrete signals for controls, this means that NO PCB is required to interface with the NEO GEO hardware (AES/CD/MVS/etc). Discrete signals, boiled down for simplicity, means every input has its own pin on the console/hardware and when that input signal is connected to GROUND the signal is activated in game.
If you want to use a fight stick or arcade stick with a NEO-GEO hardware scheme, check out the Brook NEO-GEO converter.
Compatibility Questions – Are AKISHOP RJ-45 Cables compatible with the Retro Board?
Yes! These are 100% compatible with the Brook Retro Board.
Compatibility Questions – Does the Brook Retro Board Support Genesis or 3DO?
Not at this time. ArcadeShock and I are working with Brook to work through these consoles to see if we can make it happen with their controller protocols.
