Panzer Fight Stick 5SE Chassis

FIRST RUN DISCOUNT IS IN EFFECT FOR THE FIRST 5 CHASSIS. They are great, but I have minor improvements to make in the next batch.

The Panzer Fight Stick 5SE is the lower cost, yet high quality, version of the more premium Panzer Fight Stick 5 chassis. Fully compatible with all Panzer 5 Panels, the Panzer 5SE is an more traditional sheet metal case (also aluminum, but nearly 3mm thick) that is more akin to the Panzer 4 with a Panel and Bezel installed. Because of the manufacturing techniques - these are powder coated and can be done faster than the fully machined Panzer 5 chassis. More colors are coming.

If you want a special color, we can accommodate with a MINIMUM ORDER of 5 CHASSIS. Custom colored Chassis will incur additional costs related to the procurement and setup of a new powder coat color. A group by to satisfy the minimum number for a special color is acceptable.

  • Overall Dimensions: 15 x 9.3 x 2.8" - this taller case should allow for the LARGEST of levers :)
  • Chassis Weight: Approximately 3lbs, 3oz without a panel installed.

Overview

The front has 6x 24mm holes for the Start, Select, Home, L3, R3, and TP Click buttons. Additionally, the USB passthrough section is unthreaded and compatible with any included hardware with your USB passthrough of choice.

Construction

The Panzer Fight Stick 5SE is a more traditional two piece, bent sheet metal design - this harkens back all the way to the Panzer OG days. Its a utilitarian design that has proved to be highly flexible given it's simple design elements.

Top Panel Specifics

The top panel, combined bezel is not included and sold separately so you buy what you need and nothing more. The Panzer 5SE only has 4 of the mounting holes threaded. The two center holes require a washer, and nut to be installed on the inside. Given the weight of the panel and the stability provided by the 4 outer screws, you can omit them. I don't recommend it though.

The top panel has 4x mounting points (internally) for standard sized PCBs (PS360+, Brook PCBs, IPFB, etc.). The included #4-40 screws hold it in place and lever mounting points when required (lever based panels).

The plexi overlay, which is required can be printed plexi or cut on demand plexi, fits into the panel for a nearly seamless fit with the panel (all plexi has some tolerances associated for thickness).

Bottom Panel Specifics

The bottom has 4x rubber feet using 10-32 screws.

The panel is held in using the included 6x M4 screws (silver stainless steel).

Wiring

The base chassis comes with the base EZ WIRING hat and interconnect wires to the MX/HE panel and base fighting board used. Your HE/MX Panel will come with wiring to connect the panel EZ BUILD PCB to the front buttons. If you use the first run Sega 2P panel or the Traditional Vewlix panels you will need an alternate wiring solution.

Buttons

I recommend SCREW IN buttons for the Panzer Fight Stick 5SE. The overall thickness of the chassis is nearly 3mm and may be fine for snap in buttons; but screw ins are king. You will need 6x 24mm buttons in total.
