The GX12-5 connector was popularized by Madcatz on the TE2 and TE2+ fight sticks and the MLG gaming pads. The FGC liked them so much that companies like Razer tried to follow suit with a custom connector on the ATROX that was known to fail; they ultimately relented and used the GX12-5 connector on the PANTEHRA sticks with a non standard wiring pinout that caused chaos when replacement cables were required (and generally unavailable).

Around 2015 (or so, memory is fuzzy as I get older) - I wanted the Panzer Brigade to be able to benefit from the "Pro Cable Connector" on their builds and designed a simple two plate design that allowed them to install and use Pro Cables easily. This worked fine but required a special gap in the plates to route wires through, a gasket to finish it off, and was just slightly annoying to install due to the design. 

Now, the Pro Cable Connector is back with a huge update. These are a single, solid design. Each part is machined from aluminum, bead blasted, and anodized. Best part? They match all of the other Aluminum dress up parts offered on the shop! No gasket is required (or fits) on these connectors as the entire things is designed to be a high grade part. This saves time, money, and effort during install. The connector is pre-assembled (it has to be so the USB cables fit through the holes in the aluminum) and ready to install.
